gold and silver inlaid and inscribed “Panem Labore, Wilson forever” on the outside flats of octagon barrel. The center flat is inscribed “Beatus Qui Intelligit Super Egenum & Pauperem, P XL VI, 1917”. The barrel shows fancy W.W. for Woodrow Wilson beautifully engraved. The pistol fires a cork propelled by wafer type cap similar to “Greenie” stickem cap but thinner and larger of which a box containing a few is included. The pistol measures 12” overall with blued barrel and nickeled mounts. Finely checkered and basket weave carved select wood stock and fire blued screws. Excellent condition overall. Contained within its original French style velveteen line fitted case. The accessories compartment contains corks and two partial tins of caps. The case is near fine. By tradition this novelty was presented to President Woodrow Wilson at an appreciation dinner by a Belgium diplomat and should be further researched. Est.: $6,000-$12,000
