This is a presentation shotgun of General Lucas Victor Beau. General Beau had a highly decorated military career, serving in both WWI and WWII. He retired from service as National Commander of the Civil Air Patrol in 1955. This shotgun was presented to the general on December 25, 1945. At the time, Beau was a Brigadier General serving in Wiesbaden, Germany. The 12 gauge shotgun was made by Bayard Arms Company. It features a beautifully carved stock with a mother of pearl grip cap. The shotgun was Belgian made and shows excellent quality and craftsmanship. The shotgun comes in the original presentation case made from solid oak and covered in leather. A brass plaque on the front reads "Lucas V. Beau Brig. Gen. U.S.A. 25 Dec. 45". The shotgun is in good condition. The case measures 9.5" x 33". Serial number 143659
