Presentation IXL Sheffield dagger in the Last of the Mohicans pattern. Approx 10-1/4” overall, with a 6” double edged dagger blade with fullers on each side. Front of blade flat is stamped “Geo. Wostenholm Sheffield” and “England”. Obverse of ricasso is stamped “I*XL”. Blade is in near mint unsharpened condition. Full edges and tip. Copper-plated one-piece cast brass hilt with integral crossguard in the depiction of an American Mohican Indian with silver bow in right hand. In the left hand there is a small silver knife that is missing. Light wear to copper plating showing brass underneath. Crossguard with figural dog’s head quillons. Ornate cast brass 3-dimensional sheath is copper plated depicting combating Indians with hunting dog and eagle feeding its eaglet.
