Presentation Colt Police Pocket Revolver Used at Gettysburg,<p>serial number 8657 (all matching). Backstrap engraved "Presented to Robert McConnell 150th" and then continuing onto the butt plate "regt by the Citizens of the City of Pokeepsie." The 150th was raised as a three year regiment in Dutchess County, in 1862, and served on guard duty in Baltimore until July, 1863, when it marched into battle as part of the 12th Corps and in its first engagement was part of the battle of Gettysburg. The regiment lost 45 killed, wounded and missing here. McConnell was present at the battle. WITH a mismatched walnut case, containing marked Colt bullet mold, a Colt style flask, percussion cap tin, and a number of lead projectiles.<p>Revolver in good condition, with little or no original finish remaining, silver-plating on trigger guard and backstrap mostly gone, though traces remain. Cylinder nipples replaced.
