Presentation 1936 Munich Olympics starter pistol by “Anchutz” showing Nazi proofs nickel plated with pearl grips and incised carved decorations showing Olympic symbol on left, swastika on right and Berlin. Thepistol is very finely made and high quality with Germany stamped in English on bottom of barrel, Nazi proofs, and “J.G.A.” initials in circular cartouche on left side of barrel. The condition is fine to excellent and theoriginal cardboard box is retained. An email letter from Dieter Anchutz confirms mfg by their company and mentions 1936 may have been the first time a starter pistol was used at the games but no records available fromfactory. A 1957 dated letter by “Ken Bittemier” describes the pistol and mentions it was obtained by his uncle when he was on tour in Europe in the 1930’s from a man named Rudel.
