Biography
Jean David, (1908-1993) Painter. Born in 1908 in Bucharest, Rumania. Immigrated to Israel in 1944. Studies: 1927 Beaux Arts, Paris; 1930 advanced studies, Grande Chaumiere Academy and Andre Lot Academy, Paris. Prizes: 1960 Dizengoff Prize. He was one of the founders of the Artists Village, Ein Hod in 1954. David took part in the New Horizons exhibitions. In 1955-59 he worked on decorating Zim passenger ships. Designed posters, books and stamps. Jean David died in 1993.
