Premier marked .22 caliber short, long, and long rifle pump action rifle with 24” octagon barrel, blued finish, standard wood stocks mounted with Lyman tang sight, folding rear sight and hooded front sight all contemporary to the period of manufacture. The rifle was probably manufactured for a hardware store by Savage or other large maker and marketed under such names as Premier. Sears and Montgomery and Wards were known to use this technique. The metal surfaces show 75% to 85% original blue finish toning to brown with some scattered pitting mostly on the magazine tube. The stocks are good with some minor scratches and mars in the varnish with a slight hairline crack on the right side of the wrist where the metal meets the frame. The action is good and the bore is bright. The rifle shows a screw release takedown on the right side of frame. Gale Kennedy Historical West Collection. Est.: $250-$500.
