Prehistoric Chipadero Mogollon Pottery Trade Olla. This is a rare prehistoric pottery jar that has been glued, but has no other restoration. There are designs below the pulled spout rim and a handle on the rim (an unusual location). On the body are more geometric designs, including concentric rectangles on two sides and lines around the olla, above and below the midline. The bottom is flat. Prehistoric pottery found on private ranchland near Arabela-Bluewater in South Central New Mexico and acquired in accordance with all state and federal regulations. Items date from 900-1400 A.D. and were produced by the Jornado branch of the Mogollon culture. Some Casas Grande and El Paso prehistoric pottery was also found in these same sites.
