This is an attractive example of a Colt Single Action Army revolver that was manufactured in 1929. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" on the left side and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the right side of the front and back strap under the grip. The rear face of the cylinder has the last two numbers of the serial number scratched into it. The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with the number "3" over the Colt "VP" triangle proof. The loading gate and right rear of the frame are marked with the matching assembly number "74". Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, all nickel finish and fitted with ivory grips with carved steer head on the right panel and silver Colt medallions.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 98% plus original nickel finish with a small area beginning to blister on the forward underside of the barrel. Overall there are some light scratches and a drag line on the cylinder. The grips are slightly undersized and remain very fine with a reglued chip on the left toe, some minor age cracks a mellow patina and attractive grain. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
