This example was manufactured in early 1913 and is marked on the barrel "R.I.A./flaming bomb/1-13" just behind the front sight. The bolt is marked with the steel lot code "C13" on the front of the safety lug. The receiver has the standard markings. Mounted on a smooth walnut straight grip stock with grasping grooves, one reinforcing bolt, a boxed "C.N./1913" cartouche on the left side of the wrist, a script circled "P" proof on the underside of the wrist and a checkered steel buttplate with trapdoor (empty). With a Rock Island Arsenal Model 1905 bayonet dated 1906 and a leather scabbard stamped "R.I.A./1907./H.E.K.".

Condition:
Very fine, 60% plus original blue finish remains with flaking on the receiver showing a mottled gray/brown patina, some high edge wear and some minor oxidation. The stock is excellent with scattered minor scratches and some dings. Mechanically excellent. The bayonet is fine with some areas of discoloration. The scabbard is good with flaking, scratches and indentions.
