Made by Simson of Suhl (Thuringen), Germany circa 1930. Blued 28" "Spezial Gewehr Laufstahl" marked barrels in 12 gauge with matted maker marked rib, bead front sight, extractors and 2-3/4" chambers with Full and Cylinder chokes. Case-hardened scalloped boxlock action with floral engraving, Greener crossbolt, cocking indicators, double triggers, side clips and non-automatic safety. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock with right hand cheekpiece, Simson marked hard rubber butt plate and grip cap. Matching checkered splinter forearm with Anson and Deeley latch release. CONDITION
95% original barrel blue with light edge wear. 95% original action colors with wear in handling and carry areas. Stock has original hand rubbed finish with minor nicks and dings and replaced sling swivel stud and small crack behind left action panel. Good bores with crisp lockup and mechanics.
