Manufactured in 1903. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line Hartford address with "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" roll stamped on the left side and "44" on the underside. Smokeless powder frame, with 2-line, 3-date address on the left side followed by the circled Rampant Colt, "W" in the hammer cutout and "2216" on the loading gate. Matching serial number on the frame, trigger guard and backstrap, with matching partial number on the rear cylinder face. Two piece ivory grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions, left panel smooth, right panel decorated with a raised carved steer head. The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, caliber, barrel length, blue finish, ivory grips, that it was sold to C.R. Ferris and shipped as 1 to Lee, Glass Anderson Hardware Company, Omaha, Nebraska on July 16, 1903.

Condition: Period refurbished, showing 60% of the blue finish, with a gray patina on the grip straps and cylinder, patches of spotting and scattered handling marks. Grips are fine replacements as period repaired, with the toe of the left grip replaced, minor chips, and an attractive color. Mechanically excellent.
