Pre-War Mauser Standard Model Bolt Action Rifle with Sling
Developed in 1933, the Standard Model was the final commercial configuration issued by the pre-war Mauser factory. Blade and tangent sights, with "crown/ letter" proofs on the left side of the receiver ring, and "STANDARD-MODELL " on the sidewall. "S/42" code "ghost receiver" with the Mauser banner, over a faintly visible "1937". Writer believes that Mauser used rejected military actions for the commercial trade as this would explain the aforementioned observation. Milled components, with matching numbers on the bolt, floor plate and trigger guard. Smooth straight grip stock with an unidentified stamp behind the rear sling swivel, brown leather sling and a flat buttplate.

Condition: Excellent, 98% of the bright original blue finish, with spotting and mild handling marks. Stock is very fine, with light chipping near the buttplate, dings and scratches. Sling is good, with light cracks and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
