Manufactured in 1937. This pistol has the standard two line address and patent marking on the left side of the barrel. "THE WOODSMAN" is on the left side of the frame and "COLT AUTOMATIC / CAL..22 LONG RIFLE" followed by the Rampant Colt on the left side of the slide and the serial number is marked on the front strap. Fixed front blade and windage adjustable rear sights, serrated trigger, serrated panel on the back strap indicating it was designed for high velocity ammunition, blue Colt Woodsman marked magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips. These shorter barreled Woodsman was introduced in 1933 and was intended as a "take along" pistol due to the Woodsman's popularity with outdoorsmen. Complete with the original maroon hinged lid box numbered to the gun, with instructions, "shooting suggestions" and "special instruction" pamphlets, cleaning brush and sight screwdriver.
