According to the included letter from M.S. Huber, Colt Historian, This revolver was one of 2 sent to Whitney Sporting Goods of Denver, Colorado on May 3, 1920. The letter confirms the caliber, finish and barrel length, with the grips "Not Listed". Fixed sights, with the single line Hartford address on top of the barrel and "45 COLT" on the left. Frame is marked with the two line, three date patent markings next to the Rampant Colt, with "66" on the rear of the cylinder and "866" assembly number on the loading gate and the rear of the frame under the right grip. Grips are checkered hard rubber, with Rampant Colt imprints.

Condition: Very fine, with 80% of the original blue finish, showing the start of a gray patina on the backstrap, bright wear on the high edges and muzzle and scattered scratches. The frame shows 85% of the original case colors, strongest in the lower areas, with a smooth brown on the higher points. Grips are excellent, with a few light pressure dents. Mechanically excellent.
