Pre-War Colt Woodsman Semi-Automatic Sporting Pistol with Box and Two Extra Magazines
Produced in 1940, with the pre-war commercial blue finish and two-piece checkered walnut grips. Standard, adjustable, target front and rear sights, with the left side of the barrel roll stamped with the address and patent dates, "THE WOODSMAN" on the left side of the frame and "COLT" followed by "AUTOMATIC/ CAL.22 LONG RIFLE" and the Rampant Colt trademark on the slide. A "T" assembler's mark is stamped above the Colt "triangle/vp" proofmark on the left side of the trigger guard bow. Matching numbers on the front strap and inside the slide. With a Colt imitation leather box and two extra magazines.

Condition: Excellent, with 98% of the original commercial blue finish, showing some light handling marks overall. The grips show minimal wear and have very sharp checkering. The carton is fair, heavily reinforced with masking tape. Mechanically excellent. This is an excellent example of a pre-war Colt Sport Model Woodsman pistol.
