Pre-War Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Pearl Steerhead Grips
Manufactured in 1900. Blade front and notch rear sights with the one line Hartford address on top of the barrel and caliber markings on the left side, with a crescent-style ejector head. Smokeless powder frame, marked with the two line, three patent dates on the left side followed by the circled Rampant Colt. Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard and backstrap and the loading gate has the assembly number "711". Fitted with two piece pearl grips with steerhead carved on the right panel. As of description time, no factory letter is available. Consignor notes, however, state this revolver letters as having been shipped by the factory to Walter Tips, Austin, Texas, on March 1, 1900. If this is true, historians will quite possibly have a greater interest in this Colt SAA! We cannot verify the aforementioned note and will offer this lot as is, purely on it's own merit.

Period replated overall with most of the aforementioned nickel finish remaining with high edge wear and most has dulled or "frosted" with age. There are a few minor scratches and dings overall. The front trigger guard screw is a replacement and isn't flush with the trigger guard plate. The grips are very good with some minor dings and scuffs, and some discoloration. The markings are clear. The action is missing the half-cock notch, but functions otherwise.
