Pre-War Colt Government Model Semi-Automatic Pistol
This is an example of a Colt Commercial Government Model semi-automatic pistol that was manufactured in 1920. The pistol has a high polish blue finish, barrel with polished chamber, checkered walnut stocks and a 'two-tone', flat base, magazine. The right side of the frame is roll-stamped: "GOVERNMENT MODEL" above the serial number "C 122878". The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with a "W" assembler's marks and the Colt Triangle/VP proof mark. The right side of the slide is roll-stamped: "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 45" in two lines. The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with the 1897-1913 patent dates in a two-line block followed by the Rampant Colt trademark and the Colt Hartford address in a second, two-line block. An "S" commercial sales marks is stamped on the barrel in front of the lug and on the frame behind the disconnector hole.
