This is a pre-war example of a Colt Commercial Government Model semi-automatic pistol as manufactured in 1920. The left side of the slide has the 1897-1913 two-line, two block patent dates and address markings flanking the Rampant Colt trademark. The right side of the slide is roll-stamped "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 45". An "S" commercial sales mark is stamped on the barrel in front of the lug and on the frame behind the disconnector hole. The right side of the frame is roll-stamped "GOVERNMENT MODEL" above the serial number. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with an assembler's "W" mark and the Colt Triangle/VP proof mark. The pistol has a high polish blue finish with polished chamber, checkered walnut stocks and a two-tone flat base magazine.
