This is an excellent example of a scarce and desirable Astra Model 900 that is complete with a combination wooden holster/shoulder stock. These pistols was designed to capitalize on the popularity of the Mauser Broomhandle and are actually shaped to look and operate exactly like the 1896 Mauser Broomhandle. The side plate is marked ""ASTRA" AUTOMATIC PISTOL CAL 7.63 /PATENTED JULY. 12. 1928 / Unceta y Compania GUERNICA " with the serial number (26404) directly above the left grip panel, with both grips numbered "404". The right side of the frame has the Eibar proofmarks that consist of a knight's helmet over a small box with an "X" inside, "F" and the double circled "P" proof for automatic pistols. This same last proof of a circled "P" is found on the right front edge of the barrel extension and again on the rear end of the barrel directly in front of the chamber area. It has the standard tangent rear sight graduated from 50-1000 meters with the fixed inverted "V" front sight. The back strap is cut for shoulder stock and it has the 12 groove grip panels, and lanyard loop on the butt. It is complete with the combination wooden holster and shoulder stock with serial number (27823) stamped inside the lid and on the attaching iron latch.
