Pre-WWII German 1937 Dated Krieghoff PO8 Luger Pistol
This is a very nice example of a professionally restored pre-war Krieghoff luger pistol. The Krieghoff lugers were the only pistol officially adopted and approved for use by the Luftwaffe during WWII. Total production of these Krieghoff lugers during WWII was approximately 12,200 pistols in total with approximately 2500 made in 1937. The noted serial number ranges for the this year are approximately 7300-10,000, clearly indicating that this example was produced fairly late in 1937. The top of the chamber is stamped 1937 and the top of the toggle is marked with the Krieghoff anchor with the distinctive "H K" marked on each side of the anchor, over "Krieghoff/Suhl". The Krieghoff factory proofmarks of the Eagle/2 proof are located on the right side of the barrel extension, barrel, firing pin, side plate, breechblock, and toggle assembly. It currently has a set of correct Krieghoff coarse checkered brown plastic grips and it is fitted with a late model "fxo" marked blued magazine with the aluminum base that has a double Krieghoff proof on the bottom with no serial number. The last two digits of serial number "33" are correctly marked on the various small parts with the full serial number on the front of the receiver and under side of the barrel and the left side of the barrel extension. The various small parts have been properly restored with the "straw" colors as originally done in WWII.
