Pre WW1 100th Winnipeg Grenadiers Uniform & WW1 General Service Tunic to Same Man
Both tunics were issued to H T Lowe of Whitewood Saskatchewan. Included are digital pictures submitted by consignor, and copies of his attestation papers (all digital, not on paper). 1) Scarlet red tunic with 7 General Service brass uniform buttons down the front. Two breast pockets, each with GS buttons. Brass metal 100 shoulder titles, as well as flaming grenade collar badges. Has yellow rank insignia on arm, with padded drum above. Inside tunic is marked with in 100 stamp above name (faint), and at bottom of back is the sizing 5 F 7-S /. perhaps 35. 2). Standard Khaki 7 button tunic with 4 pockets. All with general service uniform buttons. No insignia. Markings inside read 5 F 5-6 / 36 / 32. Each tunic does show use and wear, each has some light staining, and a few moth nibbles. Nice set, that seldom come up together after all these years. Great newspaper article from Whitewood Saskatchewan outlining the history of Mr Lowe.
