For your consideration Pre Columbian Peruvian woman face pottery vessel. Pre Colombian refers to the time before Christopher Columbus's voyages of 1492; this pottery vessel shows a woman with traditional Orejones an Incan ear ornaments worn by both sexes in many cultures in ancient Peru. The vessel shows a lip on top of the head of the woman and shows a conal spout at the top of the vessel. The condition of this vessel is good with some patina and darkening to the clay of the pot and slight chipping to the lip of the spout but otherwise in good museum quality condition. The measurements of this pottery vessel 8 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 6". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery.
