A wonderful Nazca Olla with four panels showing "Bloody Mouth", Ca. 200 - 400 A.D.
This beautifully shaped Nazca Olla has the creature known as Bloody Mouth shown on it. (See "A Sourcebook of Nasca Ceramic Iconography" - pg. 113) Bloody Mouth is an abbreviated version of the Killer Whale, emphasizing its jaw and prey. Great paint and deposits highlight the piece.
Measures 5-1/4" tall by 5-3/4" wide.
