Fantastic Moche portrait vessel, Ca. 500 - 700 A.D. - An open top Moche portrait head, wearing large earspools (the type of earspools that are known from the Lords of Sipan burials) and a wrap around headdress (known as a type B headdress). This piece very similar to a piece in the Moche portrait book shown on page 99 as figure 6.19. Wonderful piece. 8" tall.
