A beautiful Colima gadrooned squash vessel from West Mexico, ca. 300 B.C. – 300 A.D. This lovely Comala type is 14” in diameter, 9” high and is supported on a trio of parrot legs. The rich red slip is highly burnished and shows good mineral deposits. A great example with just minor restoration. Cf. “Townsend “Ancient West Mexico”, page 213, for similar example.
