A large Colima shaman figure from West Mexico, ca. 300 B.C. – 300 A.D. He is 11” high and is portrayed seated behind a large, decorated drum. He is wearing a death mask and a complex headdress with the protruding shaman’s horn. He is depicted drinking from a cup and has a pair of large serpents deeply incised into his back. A large and showy piece.
