This standard Model 70 rifle was manufactured in 1947 during the transition period (1945-51) in the very desirable and rare 300 Savage caliber which was available as a special order caliber circa 1944 until sometime in the 1950s. The rifle has a hooded ramp front sight, adjustable sporting type rear sight and a receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting. Standard Winchester markings including the factory proof on the barrel and receiver. The polished bolt is not numbered. It has a transition safety and a cloverleaf receiver tang. The pistol grip stock has a straight comb, checkering, sling swivels and checkered steel buttplate.

Near mint as professionally restored. The rifle retains 99% blue finish with a minor scratch on the trigger guard. The stock is also near mint with some minor handling marks. Overall the checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
