Manufactured in 1948 during the Transition period (1945-51) in the desirable 22 Hornet carbine variation. Standard Winchester markings including the factory proof on the receiver (double stamped) and barrel at the breech. The carbine has a hooded ramp front sight, adjustable sporting type rear sight and a receiver tapped for scope/sight mounting (top filler screws absent). Transition safety and polished bolt that is numbered to the gun. The pistol grip stock features checkering, sling swivels and checkered steel buttplate.

Fine as refinished overall. The carbine retains most of the dull matte period blue finish with some loss at the muzzle. The revarnished stock is fine with most of the varnish remaining and a few mild handling marks. The checkering is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
