Manufactured in 1945 (receiver) around the time of the early transition period (late 1945-1951). It is chambered in the very desirable and rare 300 Savage caliber which was available as a special order caliber circa 1944 until sometime in the 1950s. Hooded ramp front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight on a barrel marked with the Winchester legend on the left side. Winchester factory oval proof on the barrel and receiver. Receiver tapped for scope mounting at the front and sight mounting at the rear left side, pre-war safety, cloverleaf receiver tang, polished bolt numbered to gun and sling swivels. The checkered straight comb pistol grip stock has a checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The rifle retains 97% of the blue finish showing an area thinning to gray near the muzzle. The stock is fine with a few light handling marks and some blemishes in the checkering. Mechanically excellent.
