Featured in this lot is this 1926 marked North and Judd Iron Spurs shown pre August Buermann. The spurs feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted iron construction that shows the iconic North and Judd anchor hallmark at the base of the neck of the spurs with five star rowels with double rings for heal and fore foot straps and a swivel spur strap button. Begun in 1832 as the North Company in New Britain, Connecticut, which made “saddlery hardware” and “tried to satisfy the needs of the rider”. The business grew quickly and was a supplier to the U.S. army during the Civil War and again during the Spanish-American war and even the first World War. The condition of this pair of spurs is well preserved with some oxidation to the spurs due to age but otherwise are well preserved. The measurements of this pair of spurs is 5 1/2" x 4 3/8" x 2". The collective weight of this pair of spurs is 1lb 2oz.
