<B>Pair of Ninth Plate Hard Images Depicting Couple (Krainik 382),</B></I> ca. 1860s, the husband’s being a ruby ambrotype and the wife’s being a tintype, housed in opposing panels of a double-image thermoplastic case embossed on both sides with a ballerina, <I>Krainik 382</B></I>. Inside the case, behind the portraits, is an imprint attributing this case to manufacturer Holmes, Booth & Hayden of Waterbury, Connecticut. An intense pair of hardworking people with no patience for sloth and likely no time for romance. Both images have decent surfaces, expected wear to case.
