Today's auction is offering a 3-piece collection of MAR-CREST Pottery. Beautiful brown earthenware. The three piece setting consists of a large Tankard, Large Mixing Bowl, and a wonderful Deep Dish Skillet or Covered, Deep Dish Casserole dish in which none of the three items has been used. This set came from an incentive at the "Kroger" Grocery Stores in the early 1950's. The earthenware was made by Western Stoneware for The Marshall Burns Company in Chicago, who distributed the pottery to the Kroger Stores. This earthenware design is called the Daisy Dot Pattern. Very Decorative and highly glazed. Each piece shows no cracks, chips, etc. The tankard measures: 8 inches tall with the base diameter measuring 6 inches; opening diameter measures 4 3/4 inches; The skillet/casserole dish has a long handle and the opening diameter measures 8 3/4 inches; 3 1/2 inches tall; depth measure a little over 3 inches; base diameter measures 4 3/4 inches. no chips, cracks, etc. The final item is the large mixing bowl which measures 4 inches tall; opening diameter measures 9 1/2 inches; inside depth measures 3 1/2 inches; no chips, cracks, etc. The bottom of all three pieces are embossed with: MAR-CREST-STONEWARE-USA-OVEN PROOF. All three pieces are beautiful and would look great in anyone's kitchen. Especially if you love old pottery.
