Post World War I German 1917 Dated DWM 1920 Police Rework Luger Pistol Rig

This is an example of a late WWI Imperial German Luger, manufactured in 1917 that was reissued/reworked as a Police Luger during the Weimar era and then reissued under the Nazis, during WWII. The chamber area is dated 1917 and it has the DWM marked front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the standard three "Crown/Script" proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof. It has a post WWI, 1922-29 era, unnumbered replacement barrel that is stamped with both the "Eagle/6" and "PTV/Eagle" Simson Rework proofs along with a Eagle firing proof. It has the remnants of the Police sear and magazine safety (deactivated). The safety and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" and it has the fixed front and notch rear sight with the stock lug on the back strap. It has been fitted with two Police arsenal numbered type magazines; the first one is a unmarked nickel plated version with the aluminum base marked: "Eagle/46/182" with the second one being a WWII issue Haenel Schmeisser, marked version with the aluminum base marked: "1/182/Police Eagle" proof. It is complete with a black WWII Police holster marked on the back "SCHAMBACH & Co./BERLIN/1943/Police Eagle".

Very fine with 85% of the faded arsenal refurbished blue finish overall with edge and high spot wear. The various small parts retain traces of their straw colors overall. The holster is in fine condition with a nice tight stitching, clear sharp markings showing minor scuffing of the leathern on the front flap, lower toe and magazine pouch.
