Post World War I 1917 Dated Model 1914 Erfurt Police Rework Luger Rig with Two Matching Magazines and Holster

WWI German Luger pistol as manufactured by the Imperial Arsenal at Erfurt in 1917 that was later reworked into an early Weimar and Nazi era Police Luger. The chamber area is dated 1917 and it has the standard "Crown/ERFURT" marks on top of the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the standard Crown over script proofs next to an "Imperial Eagle" proof. The top front edge of the barrel extension has the small sight cut, typically intended for the rear portion of the artillery rear sight, and as seen on many 1917 produced Lugers and the right and left side of the barrel have early WWII era Simson rework proofs along with a single "Eagle/655" military proof. It also had remnants of the sear safety with the spring bar over the side plate. The various parts are a mix of the early Erfurt Arsenal parts that have the Erfurt "Crown/Script Letter" proof mixed with some later parts that do not have this proof. The pistol has the standard fixed front and rear sights and the extractor and safety are properly marked with "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". It is fitted with two WWII Haenel Schmeisser marked blue magazines with aluminum bases that are stamped "1/27/Eagle C" and "3/27/Eagle C" proofs. This Luger is complete with a brown leather holster that is stamped on the inside of the flap, "A.R. ATFELDERS/RAWMELA 11/RIGA".

Manufucture: Erfurt

Guage: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue

Very fine with 90% of the arsenal refurbished blue finish overall with wear and finish loss on the edge and high spots, with thinning and oxidation on the grip straps. The walnut grips are very fine with nice original checkering on both sides. The holster is fine with a nice dark brown color overall with wear and finish loss on the toe and upper corner of the flap. The markings are clear. As noted this pistol has all matching numbers to include both arsenal numbered magazines. A nice early WWII Police rework Luger pistol rig.
