Post-WWI 1920 Police Rework Luger Pistol with Rare Matching Number Unit Marked Holster and Takedown
This is a nice example of a standard post-WWI Weimar era police rework Luger pistol as made by the DWM factory. The chamber area is dated 1920 in compliance with the Versailles treaty with the front toggle marked DWM. The right side of the barrel extension has the small "AyA 4" rework proofs with remnants of the Imperial eagle proofs on the side of the barrel, with no other visible proof marks any where. The left side of the pistol has the small sear safety on top of the side plate with the non-functional magazine safety. The front grip strap had the original WWI unit markings removed and was marked "S.D.I. 282". It has the standard checkered walnut grips, with a non-matching wooden base, nickel plated magazine. It is complete with a black luger holster that is marked on the back "Franz Cobau/1933" along with the same unit markings "S.D.I. 282" in the upper right hand corner and a take down tool.

Arsenal refurbished overall with 90% of the correct blue finish remaining with finish loss on the edges and high spots overall, the front frame rails, the side plate hump and the front and rear grip straps, with those metal areas turning a light brown patina. The pistol has matching numbers except for the magazine. Mechanically fine. The holster was originally a brown leather holster that been Arsenal re-dyed black, that is in fine condition overall with clear markings and tight stitching.
