These are the terms and conditions of our sale. By entering bids you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to all terms and conditions listed below.
1) The auction will take place exclusively on the icollector.com network. All bids will be placed either directly by you on this system, or by us on your behalf (with your verbal, and/or written consent) through the internet. No bidding in person, by mail, or fax will be accepted. The sale will begin September 16th, 7pm Eastern time, and continue until all lots are auctioned.
2) Viewing is by appointment only, and will take place at the offices of Carsley Whetstone & Company Inc. 1117 St-Catherine Street West, Suite 900, Montreal, Quebec. You can call us M-F 9am to 4:30pm to make arrangements at 514-289-9761.
3) If you would like more information on any lot please call or email us at least one day BEFORE the auction begins. To keep the auction moving at a steady pace we are unable to answer questions about the lots during the auction.
4) If you have problems bidding on the system you may call us during the auction at 514-289-9761. We will have staff on hand to take your calls and make sure all bids get entered properly.
5) You may bid live during the auction, and before the auction at www.icollector.com
6) Our bidding increments are;
a. $0-99 $5
b. $100-299 $10
c. $300-499 $20
d. $500-999 $25
e. $1000-$4000 $50
f. Over $5000 $100
7) 1st bid will always have priority if 2 bids of the same amount are received.
8) Buyers will be charged a premium of 18% (Eighteen Percent) on all successful bids.
9) All lots will start at the MINIMUM BID. There are no reserves.
10) Estimates are the opinion of the auctioneer only, and represent no guarantee of value. Lots will sell for more or less depending on buyer demand at the time of auction.
11) This auction is in CANADIAN DOLLARS.
12) Return Policy: Items incorrectly described may be returned within 5 days of receipt provided that the buyer contact us via telephone at 514-289-9761 within 1 business day of receipt. We need to pay our consignors quickly, so after 5 days of receipt all sales are FINAL, and we will not accept returns for ANY reason.
13) All lots remain with Carsley Whetstone until paid in full.
14) Grading. We provide descriptions, and opinions to aid our bidders, however since grading is subjective we cannot guarantee any grade provided. Many of our lots are certified by ICCS, NGC, PCGS and other grading services. Even in the case of certified coins the grade is only a subjective opinion of their panel of experts and will vary from one certification company to another. It is important for the bidder to make his/her own opinion of the items they are bidding on based on as much information as possible. Images are provided as an aid, and should be considered along with the certification information. Should a bidder require more information about a lot, it is important that they get it BEFORE bidding by either contacting us by phone, and/or inspecting the lot in person by appointment. In no way do we guarantee any grades given by us or the grades of other experts via grading services.
15) All bids made via icollector.com are final. Please review your bid before making it, as you are bound by it.
16) Payment may be made via the following methods, and must be made in Canadian Dollars;
a. In Cash – by appointment at our offices
b. Certified Check drawn on a Canadian bank
c. Paypal – (Canadian Dollars only please); subject to a 3.5% Fee
d. Mastercard/Visa- subject to a 3.5% Fee
e. Wire Transfer- Please add $14 for bank wire fees on our end.
17) Sales Tax is added to all items, and the net shipping costs, shipped within Canada. Provinces with HST will have the HST added, Quebec shipments will be charged 5% GST & 7.5% QST, other provinces will be charged 5% GST.
18) Purchases under $2,500 will be shipped via Canada Post Xpresspost or Registered Mail (both have tracking numbers) at the expense of the successful purchasers. Purchases of $2,500 or over will be shipped via Fed/Ex. ITEMS SHIPPED OUTSIDE OF CANADA OR THE USA IS SENT AT THE BUYERS RISK. WE ARE NOT RESPONCIBLE FOR ITEMS LOST OR STOLEN IN TRANSIT OUTSIDE CANADA OR USA.
19) Carsley Whetstone & Company has the right to reschedule the auction should it become impossible to hold it. Reasons could include inability to access our office due to an event, no available staff, etc. Should this happen we would advise icollector.com, and all registered bidders in a timely manner.
