The medal bar consists of Crimean Medal without clasps, India General Service M.. 1854, Indian Mutiny Medal, Abyssinia Medal (of which there were only 1200 issued) 1867-8, Italian (Sardinian) Al Valore Militare M.., Turkish Crimean M.. Above this he wears the Companion of the Order of the Bath, the Turkish Order of Mejidie and the Officer of the Legion d'Honneur. He has the Order of St. John of Jerusalem and some unidentified Order.
The fact that his Crimea has no clasps indicates to me that he belonged to a Corps (Royal Engineers or such like, but not Artillery which wore blue) rather than a combat regiment in which case he would have ALMA, BALACLAVA, INKERMANN etc. British Army rather than Indian, as there were no Indian troops in the Crimea.
