Signed by Louis Gerlinger as President. Louis Gerlinger, Sr. (1853 - 1948) a businessman in the railroad and timber industries in Oregon in the early 20th century. In 1896, Gerlinger organized and built the Portland, Vancouver and Yakima Railroad on behalf of the Harrimans. Two of Gerlinger's sons, George T. Gerlinger and Louis Gerlinger, Jr., managed the railway. In 1906, Gerlinger purchased the Cone Lumber Company, and renamed it Willamette Valley Lumber Company (WVLC). The WVLC would become Willamette Industries in 1967 and part of Weyerhaeuser in 2002. Issued to George T. Gerlinger and signed twice, on verso and again as Secretary of the Railway. George T. Gerlinger, eldest son of Louis Gerlinger; Entrepreneur, influential in the railroad and lumber products business. Punch cancelled at officers’ signatures. Small paper loss at lower left corner.
