The auction is located in Portland, Oregon at 6429 S.W. Macadam, (enter on SW Nebraska St.) Parking is provided during auctions.
This is a first edition of a massive and scarce three-volume history of Portland, Oregon by Joseph Gaston. The books were published in 1911 and the size of each volume is as follows (1) 681 pages, (2) 797 pages, (3) 830 pages. They are uniformly bound in three-quarter calf over burgundy cloth with marbled endpapers. There are hundreds of plates and illustrations throughout.
The books are tight and have seen little use; covers are worn and dry (coming from a house that had a wood stove in the adjoining room). An original set like this does not come along very often!
