This decorative Chinese porcelain vase is painted in polychrome colors. The vase stands on a round base rim and has a baluster formed body with accentuated shoulder. The latter forms a trumpet shaped neck and on the sides figural handles can be seen. They have the form of mythical creatures, each with a ring in its mouth and remnants of gilding are visible on their faces. The wall is adorned with a courtly scene and in the opposing side Chinese inscription in fine calligraphy is visible.
The vase is in good condition with slight age-related signs of wear. Some enamel abrasion, manufacturing flaws, nicks and small notches are visible. Little loss of material at the mouth of one mythical creature can be seen. The height measures 43 cm. (lvp)
