Beautiful deep blue and white covered porcelain butter dish was made by Bisto (Bishop & Stonier 1891-1939) Ceylon England as seen on the bottom of the plate along with the floral trademark and symbol. The company was purchased by George Jones in 31 and continued using the symbol until 1939.This butter dish was one of the earlier pieces produced. The scrolled plate with handles as well as the bottom of the lid is edged in gold. Delicate handle and surrounding area has gold accents as well. Excellent condition. Two very small and very slightly darker spots on inside of lid along rim. No nicks,chips or cracks. Measures 7.5W X 3.75 X 7D.Additional photos available.
