Pope (1857–1939), born Ambrogio Damiano Achille Ratti, who ascended the papal throne in 1922 and issued encyclicals condemning communism, fascism, and racism. Apostolic blessing, in French, signed “Pius pp. XI,” one page, 15 x 22.5, March 30, 1932. Apostolic blessing bestowed upon Jeanne Louise Buissel and Mr. Jean Dumont, boldly signed at the conclusion by Pius, with a 7.25 x 9 G. Felici portrait of Pius affixed to upper portion. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light toning and foxing, and some scattered light bends and creases. A large example in a less-commonly seen language.
