Born Albino Luciani (1912–1978), he was elected Pope on August 26, 1978, and suddenly died of a heart attack just 33 days later. TLS in Italian, signed “A. L.,” one page, 5.75 x 9, Bishop of Vittorio Veneto letterhead, October 11, 1968. Letter as bishop of Vittorio Veneto, in part (translated): "I am honored to announce that under the new 'Handbook of Indulgences' released just a month ago, the bishop can grant partial indulgences only to persons under their jurisdiction." In fine condition, with a few light creases, and staple holes to the upper left corner.
