Italian pope (1649–1721), born Giovanni Francesco Albani, who ascended the papal throne in 1700 and served until his death. Manuscript DS, in Latin, signed “Fiat - J.F.,” one page, 8 x 10.75, no date. Untranslated Motu proprio, signed in the center by Clement. In very good condition, with moderate toning and soiling to left side, lightly affecting signature, mounting remnants to reverse left edge, and a partial separation along central vertical fold. According to the consignor, the pope was most likely at the beginning of his Papal Reign and a little inexperienced since he first signed Fiat ut petitur J.F. (the signature used for petitions) but being a Motu proprio Clement erased these words and signed again with the correct form Fiat J.F.
