<B>Pope Clement VIII Letter Signed as Pope.</B></I> One page, 8.25" x 11", in Italian, April 1603. Born Ippolito Aldobrandini (1536-1605), Clement was Pope from 1592 until 1605. He was a wise statesman, reconciling Henry IV of France to the Church and aligning the Holy See with France rather than Spain. He then negotiated the Peace of Vervins between France and Spain, ending their long contest.
