Three Pony Express Termination Medals, 1961. 1) This large silver Termination Medal is numbered 383 of 1,000 (on original box), was struck at the US Mint in Philadelphia, and weighs 4.2 ounces. It features owners Russell, Majors and Waddell and a telegraph key. On the reverse is a dismounted pony rider watching a part of the telegraph line which caused the end of the Pony Express. This and the Termination Medal are the only official medals that commemorate the centennial. Round, 57 mm, uncirculated, in original US Mint box. 2) Same silver medal as above but 33mm, uncirculated, in original Philadelphia Mint envelope. 3) Same as above but bronze, 33mm, uncirculated, in original Philadelphia Mint envelope.
