Featured in this lot we have a small hand woven coil basket from the Pomo Native American tribe originating from the 1800's. This traditional hand woven basket displays repeating geometric patterns across the top. The basket is made from grasses woven around a single coiling rod and shows colors of dark and light brown. The Pomo Indian culture is famed for its tradition of intricate basketry. The basket, which dates to the 19th Century, is considered to be a seed gathering basket. The piece shows good condition with a tight weave and excellent detail. The basket measures 6 3/4" in diameter by 3" tall.
