Original Voting Machine From 1940 Elections, With Franklin D. Roosevelt and Wendell Wilkie As Presidential Candidates. Original medal Instruction Model No. 6409 from Automatic Voting Machine Corp., Jamestown, New York, 15" x 12" x 2", plus eight 10" x 4" instruction panels--four white panels giving directions for voting, and four yellow display panels stating that the machine is on public exhibition. The machine is in the original box, with the shipping label from the Automatic Voting Machine Corp. to John Lee in Hartford, Connecticut. Franklin D. Roosevelt and Henry Wallace are the Democratic candidates for President and Vice President; Wendell Wilkie and Charles McNary are the Republican candidates. Other offices to be chosen are governor, lieutenant governor, comptroller, attorney general, chief judge of the court of appeals, U.S. senator, U.S. representative, and representative in Congress at large. Several referenda items are also to be decided, such as "Shall a Speed Limit of 30 miles per hour be approved for Automobile traffic?" A really neat item, in excellent condition, and a great political collectible.
