<B>POLISHED SMOKY QUARTZ POINT</B></I><BR> <I>Minas Gerais, Brazil</B></I><BR>Starkly geometric in form, this partially polished smoky quartz point represents an ideal melding of natural and lapidary art: a melding rarely achieved despite best intentions on the part of the lapidary. Most of the crystal is perfect and impossible to improve upon. Skillful and restrained polishing of selected faces allows viewers the opportunity to peer down into the smoky depths of this gem to observe the <I>jardin</B></I> of inclusions imprisoned within. Lit from below, the piece takes on another dimension and personality: an added bonus for the lucky possessor. There is an accessory tourmaline crystal, on one side, which attests to its Brazilian origin.
